FOSTER RECORDS

Avid music listeners Everette and Ophelia Foster wanted to open a record shop to share their passion for music and give their visually impaired daughter a place she could enjoy as much as anyone else could. Foster Records is a shop designed not only for buying records, but also as a place to hang out, meet new people, and become inspired. This oldies music themed record shop has many different areas for getting comfortable including, open seating, large spherical pods in the wall, and private listening studios insulated with acoustic foam and equipped with a record player, headphones, and a table for working.

The concept for this project was "the world through a child's eyes," focusing on the way children see and interact with the world around them. This includes bright, solid colors, many tactile things to interact with, pods to climb into, and an overall sense of excitement and exploration.
